深い雪の中での山仕事や田んぼでの作業のために、藁や木の枝などを巧みに組み合わせて加工してあります。人々の知恵や技は、素材の性質を生かして現代の道具に勝るとも劣らない機能や性能を持ち合わせています。
Kanjiki are snowshoes which are skillfully made by intertwining straw and tree branches. They are used when doing forestry or working in rice fields in heavy snow. The wisdom and technique of the people came together to produce tools which rival or even surpass present day tools in both performance and capability.
日常生活で用いられる道具
Tools used in daily life
日々の暮らしや家の中での仕事に必要な道具も天然の木や藁などを工夫して作られています。どの道具も長年にわたって家族に受け継がれ使い込まれたあとがにじみ出ています。食材の保管には木製のおけが用いられていました。
The tools necessary for daily life and work inside the house are also created from wood and straw. All of the tools have been passed down through the family for many generations. Wooden buckets were used to store food.
