The letter ひ (pronounced “hi”) of Higashihiroshima is represented by flying birds, and expresses a wish for the unlimited progress of Higashihiroshima City as an academic city with rich nature.
The two birds in the form of the letter ひ also represent the strong bond between the citizens. The sharp protrusion at the birds’ chest represents the tip of a pen, which is the symbol of scholars and researchers who study in the academic city of Higashihiroshima.
