Former Kihara Family Residence
This residence from the early Edo Period is located in Shiraichi District in the southeast of Takaya Cho. The Kihara family used to make sake and salt. Sake breweries used to line this street in the past, but only the main house, storehouse, well and a part of the garden remain today. It is a precious building that teaches us the architectural style of the Edo Period.

Shiraichi Kabuki
Cattle and horse markets called Shiraichi Oichi used to be held in Shiraichi District since the middle of the Edo Period, with lively show tents and food stands. In theaters, actors from Osaka used to perform Kabuki during the Oichi.
Shiraichi Kabuki was revived in 1993 and has been performed every year since then. Children also study local history and perform “Children’s Kabuki.”
