Fukutomi Cho is located in the center of Hiroshima Prefecture and surrounded by mountains (78% of the town is forest). Agriculture flourishes in this town with rich nature. Mount Takanosu, 922 m high, is located there. Mount Ishizuchi in Shikoku and Mount Sanbe in Shimane Prefecture can be seen from the top.
The Nutagawa River, which runs through the town center, flows from the mountains in Fukutomi Cho to the Seto Inland Sea.
