Main roads in Higashihiroshima City
Route 2 runs east and west through the center of Higashihiroshima City towards Hiroshima City, Mihara City, and Fukuyama City. Route 375 also runs north and south through the city towards Kure City and Miyoshi City. Route 185 runs along the coast towards Kure City and Takehara City.
Sanyo Expressway runs east and west through the city and allows faster access to Hiroshima City, Fukuyama City, and to outside the prefecture.

Railways
JR Sanyo Main Line runs east and west through the city center, and JR Kure Line runs along the coast.
JR Sanyo Shinkansen also runs east and west through the city center and allows faster access to Osaka, Tokyo, or Fukuoka

Hiroshima Airport is located in Hongo Cho, Mihara City, next to Kochi Cho. It allows access to other parts of Japan, such as Tokyo, Sapporo, and Okinawa, and other parts of the world by plane.
Akitsu Cho has a ferry port, where you can take a ferry to Osakikamijima Island.
