“The University of Tokyo Forms a Rugby Club”
Ban Kayama, who graduated from Daisan High School, took the lead in forming a rugby club at the University of Tokyo. “Kayama was determined to form a rugby team in the autumn of 1921. The rugby team was finally started in November, with various athletes including Tatsuo Go (later Hisatomi) from the Judo Club and the Swimming Club, Takashi Go and Toshiro Azuma from the Boat Club, Keiichi Nanba from the Judo Club, and Hideo Kato from the Track & Field Club.” (Source: “The History of Japanese Rugby”)
“Kyoto University Forms a Rugy Club”
Keisuke Tanimura took the initiative in forming a rugby club at Kyoto University. According to him, the club was officially formed in 1921. Students who experienced rugby at Kyoto Daiichi Junior High School and Daisan High School played rugby in the name of the “Tengu Club”, which was accepted as the Kyoto University's rugby club in the public eye. Both of Tokyo and Kyoto universities held their first scheduled match at the Daisan High School field on 10 January 1922, where eight FWs appeared from both teams. Tokyo defeated Kyoto 13-0.
“5th Japan Football Tournament (Toyonaka)”
In the junior-high class, Keio Junior High School did not participate in this tournament, leaving only Doshisha and Kyoto Daiichi Commercial High School to have the final match. Doshisha won their third consecutive title by defeating Kyoto 6-0.
Daisan High School, Osaka College of Commerce, and Waseda played in the university and college class, where Daisan claimed the tournament title.

20th scheduled match held on 10 Dec. 1921: Daisan 6-3 KR&AC
9th scheduled match held on 7 Jan. 1922: Keio 11-0 Doshisha
