[Japan] The Japan national team led by the head coach, Chuji Kitajima, held two test matches with the New Zealand University (NZU) selection team that came to Japan in February 1936 for the first time. They lost the first match 16-8 (Captain: Ichiro Nogami), and secured a draw 9-9 in the second match (Captain: Kazuo Yamaguchi).
