[JRFU] To commemorate the late Prince Chichibu, the JRFU determined to rename the Tokyo rugby stadium as the Prince Chichibu Memorial Rugby Stadium.
[Japan] The British Commonwealth Occupation Force team came to Japan playing against the Japan national team that was led by Takenosuke Okumura as the head coach. The Japan national team won easily at the Hanazono Rugby Stadium 32-17; however, they lost the fifth match held in Tokyo 17-9.
[University] Waseda gained a victory over Doshisha at the 25th East-West University Championship 23-5, and defeated the All-Kyushu team at the 4th Asahi Invitational Mach 16-3. Waseda claimed their 10th national championship title for two consecutive years. Waseda became the Kanto champion and Doshisha became the Kansai champion. Seinan Gakuin defeated Miyazaki 68-3 at the 3rd Kyushu University Rugby Tournament, claiming their third consecutive tournament title.
[Company Rugby] At the Japan Company Rugby Football Championship, Kintetsu shared the championship with Kyushu Electric Power Company.
[International] The British Commonwealth Occupation Force team came and stay in Japan during March and April 1952. All of the Japan national team, the All-Kyushu team (22-9), the All-Kansai team (19-11), and the Kanto student team (29-14) fought well but lost to this British team.
The prestigious Cambridge University team came to Japan and swept all eight matches. The All-Kyushu team fought quite well but lost 26-12. All the other teams were totally defeated, the Kansai student team (32-3), Keio (14-3), Meiji (26-14), Waseda (30-0), and the All-Kansai team (21-9). The visits of both Oxford and Cambridge universities boosted the popularity of rugby.
