[Japan Rugby Championship] In the 18th Japan Rugby Championship, Nippon Steel Kamaishi beat Doshisha University 10−3 claiming their fourth championship title for three consecutive years.
[University] In the 17th All-Japan University Rugby Championship, Doshisha beat Meiji 11−6 claiming their impressive first title. In the 51st Kanto Inter-University Rugby Tournament, Keio tied Waseda but won against Meiji 12-7, resulting in achieving seven wins and one draw and claimed their sixth title and for the first time in 23 years. In the 14th Kanto University Rugby League, Hosei tied Senshu with six wins and one loss, then won the rubber match to claim their sixth league title for two consecutive years.
