Any opponent will play full out in a test match, but Japan conceded only two tries, one goal and two penalties (score: 3-16) in the first half. So the way they collapsed in the second half and conceded nine tries was so disappointing. Ogasawara made a comment as an experienced player to encourage young players as follows: “A couple of years ago, players of the national team were too exhausted to move after a match. Young players these days work hard, too, but lack vigour and the enthusiasm to extend themselves.”
