The French Tour led by coach Hitoshi Oka ended with the worst-ever results: all six games lost, scores zero points in the test matches. French ‘Champagne rugby' smashed Japan with its stormy attack. In the first half, Konishi made a high punt in front of Japan's goal in an attempt to let the ball go beyond the touch-line in the 7th minute, but France caught the ball and counterattacked. Eventually France scored the first try between right and centre. Japan was roundly defeated to France who stayed focused till the end. Some of 15,000 fans at the stadium booed in disappointment at the way Japan played.
