Scotland's logical strategy was perfect: The forwards vertically broke mauls and rucks, and the wingers ran. This was evident from the fact that five out of the six tries for Scotland were scored by their wings. All the players in the team are capped, in other words representing the country which won the five nations tournament this year. They showed off their strength in this game. I still want to say that Japan nevertheless played well. Japan scored three tries in a row near the end of the match. The opponent's defences might have been down after securing a comfortable margin of victory at 6-33, but those three tries were the results of maintaining the ‘persisting fighting spirit'. On the other hand, the play was not refined enough, and the team was not well coordinated. These shortcomings were especially apparent in the defence.
