Hopes were high for Japan to win this game after their good fight in the first test match. However, we could not break the dominance of remotivated Argentina. Japan barely managed to save its honour by ending the first Argentine tour with three wins and two losses. The score after the first half was 14-28. Japan was expected to fight back in the second half just as they did in the first test match last week. However, Argentina was a tough opponent this time. Argentina took advantage of Japan's mistakes and scored two more tries in the second half to seal the win. Regrettably, Japan could not take control of the game. However, there is also good news: Japan's forwards played neck and neck for more than five minutes including the lineouts. This indicates that Japan is getting closer to playing “rugby in which we can match the opponent in power” as coach Koyabu advocates.
