Our prayer wasn't granted; Wales roundly defeated Japan once again. Wales scored long-distance penalties one after another to extend the lead. Wales launched a pre-arranged play from the lineout in the 26th minute of the first half. When a player of Japan failed to kick the dropped ball, Wales caught it rolling to the in-goal area, and scored a try. Soon after, Masuho and Matsuda mishandled a high punt from Wales. Wales picked up the ball to score another try. Wales didn't fail to seize this opportunity; these two tries decided the game. “There is no chance for us to make an attack when we can't gain possession of our ball. We need to rebuild the defence of the maul-side before the game against Ireland, or the same thing will happen,” said coach Koyabu.
