Japan and the United States scored three tries each in this game. Japan lost a game they could have won just like they did with Canada. This time they made several regrettable mistakes. It is often said that “injury is a part of the game” in the world of rugby. We can also say that “mistake is a part of the game”, too. Players put pressure on the opponents to call their mistakes, and there will always be mistakes where humans are concerned. However, we can reduce the number of mistakes by focusing more.
Japan took the lead with a try just before the break, and extended the lead early in the second half with a try from consecutive possessions. However, they became passive after that. In the 6th minute of the second half, the opponent intercepted a pass from Iwabuchi to Motoki and scored a try. This turned the tide of the match. In the 21st minute, the United States scored a penalty to turn the game around. They also scored a penalty try in the 33rd minute, and a try from a counterattack in the 37th minute. Japan was lost at the end.
