Japan came from behind to win against Samoa, who has been in the top eight twice in the World Cup. This is the third consecutive win for Japan (against Canada, Tonga, and Samoa). This raises big hopes for the World Cup. Japan did not give up for the 80 minutes. They did not stop until the very end, deliberately formed a ruck and kept moving forward. Samoa was forced to commit an infringement. Japan quickly got back to in front of the goal. Thus the “miracle” come-from-behind try was scored. This was the first time Japan beat Samoa. Consistent attacks led to this come-from-behind win, but Japan's defence was the main contributor to this win. They endured severe attacks by Samoa, and conceded only two tries to them. Samoa is like a miniature version of the All Blacks. If Japan play like today in the World Cup, it will surprise the world.
