Japan showed some improvement from the first test match: this time they put up a good Japanese offense. Kurihara's penalty turned the game around at the end of the first half, 20-19, and made the second half more eagerly anticipated. The problem was the second half. Japan collapsed as usual and conceded six tries. At the end, the number of tries was 3-9, and the total score was 30-53. Japan's points for the first half came from tries (from consecutive possessions) by flanker Koichi Kubo and wing Terunori Masuho in the 33nd and 36th minute respectively, and two penalties. Wales scored decisively three consecutive tries after the 15th minute of the second half due to Japan's mistakes. It is a tough order not to concede more than three tries to Wales, but unless Japan builds the physical ability to endure the game to the very end, they will never be able to win.
