Japan had a training camp in France under their newly appointed coach Elissalde, then flew to South America to fight the first test match against Uruguay. The progress of Japan is represented in the way they played; whenever something unexpected happened, someone immediately responded to it. Japan won in all the lineouts in the first half. They also tried to invite errors by pressuring the opponent in possession of the ball. 23 min: wing Loamanu scored a try to mark his test debut. 35 min: Ace player Ohata scored his 44th try in test match rugby. At the break, the score was 15-5 and we could clearly see a win on our way ahead. However, they could not seize the chance and make it grow. This is what's frustrating about the current Japan. With 20 minutes remaining on the clock, 34-year-old super-sub Takeomi Ito attacked the side from the scrum. It was Japan's favourite pattern, but the ball dropped 10 centimetres short of the goal line.
