Japan scored a total of 36 points from Argentina, one of the top eight in the world. Japan's backs, including Onozawa and Tatekawa scored four tries. Morita's good kicking contributed to the score, too. Normally, a team can win or at least have a tight game with this score in a test match. So the problem is in defence after all. Nine tries are too many to concede to. Vertical dashes of the forwards, and very Latin American quick steps of the backs made Japan miss the tackle and run. Japan has an offensive capability compatible to that of Argentina. So if they can build up a systematic defence, ranking 12th in the world or advancing to the quarterfinals in the World Cup is not an impossible goal.
