Humphreys-0-14, 33min-pen Japan, Hirose-3-14, 34min-try Japan, Ohata; conv. Hirose-10-14, Half-time, 42min-try Ireland, Humphreys; conv. Humphreys-10-21, 43min-try Ireland, Duffy; conv. Hirose (missed)-18-40, 66min-try Ireland, Sheahan; conv. Humphreys-18-47.
Japan's ace player Ohata scored two tries in this game, but Ireland, on the other hand, scored seven tries and six goals, and displayed its class to Japan by scoring seven tries and six goals, winning by 30 points.
Japan ended the first half at 10-14, almost even with Ireland. However, as early as the 2nd and 3rd minute of the second half, Japan conceded consecutive tries to Ireland's fierce attack launched when Japan's prop Takagi was sin-binned. This killed Japan's morale for fighting back. The only good thing was that Ohata scored his second try for the day from a ruck to the right corner in the 20th minute of the second half, in response to the fans. It was disappointing that “the point differential was 30 as usual” in both games.
