Georgia lost to Japan A 14-15 in game 1. Japan's national squad conceded only one try and one goal to Georgia while scoring five tries, and won a sweeping victory. Ohata scored three tries today: The first one was scored by receiving a kick from Takei, who got the ball after Kiso's counterattack in the 36th minute of the first half. The second one was scored by pushing a maul in the 19th minute of the second half. The third one was scored by supporting the forwards during the extra time. This was his 65th try. Although it should not be regarded as equal to the tries scored in test matches between the world-class countries, it was still an unrivalled great record for an individual Japanese player. “Today is Ohata's day. I hope he will not forget to express gratitude for the teammates supporting him from his first try. It was a good game for the team, too,” commented the head coach Elissalde.
