Japan rebuilt its defence in one week and put up a good game to concede only one try to powerful Samoa. Samoa's coach Jones acknowledged the strong fight his men just encountered as “Japan had a fighting spirit. They took control of the game. It was a very different team from the Japan I used to know.”
Samoa has sent many players to the NZ All Blacks. Japan's defence, which conceded only one try to them, is a good reason to get our hopes up once again. If they can use this aggressive, powerful defence as well as effective offensive tactics, they may be able to win two games in the World Cup in France.
