Japan won a complete victory over Canada with the biggest margin in the test matches between the two. Japan built the match in the opponent's territory with their sharp attack from the first half. Japan pushed in a maul and Leitch scored a try in the 10th minute. They added two effective penalty goals and took control of the game. They pushed in a scrum awarded to Canada and turned it over, and Kikutani scored a try in the 39th minute. Taira pulled the ball out; Aruga picked it up and scored a try in the 40th minute. They successfully added conversions to both tries to seal the 25-3 win. They attacked well in the second half as well. Horie, who won the cap for the first time, received a pass from Arlidge from a ruck, and scored a try in the 33rd minute. Japan conceded only 8 points from one try and one penalty to Canada. Nicholas's fierce and persistent tackling and Onozawa's sharp dash were the highlight of this complete victory.
