To the Showa Era before Gaining a Victory over Keio University

On 25 December 1926, Emperor Taisho passed away. Due to this situation, all subsequent rugby games were canceled within that year. After rugby was played at Keio for the first time in 1899, during both the Meiji and Taisho eras, Keio kept on taking the lead in rugby, while all the new-born rugby teams trained with the goal of defeating Keio. In the later Taisho era, many rugby games were held. However, Keio continued to hold its position as a champion until the end of the Taisho era.
