Page 231 in “The History of Japanese Rugby” contains the section entitled “Publication of the JRFU Journal” reads as follows:
“The JRFU published its journal called “RUGBY” in October 1930. Unfortunately, with No.8 of Vol. 2, this journal suspended publication as its last issue, clarifying the reasons for suspension. According to this issue, the JRFU failed to sustain its business with inadequate financial ability to cover deficits.
This journal changed its name to “RUGBY FOOTBALL” in September 1933 as a large-sized magazine with graphic art works on all pages, published by the Japan East Rugby Football Union. However, it was difficult to follow the schedule of publishing nine issues annually. In 1937, this renewed journal was suspended again in spite of the union's continuous efforts to maintain publication. The Seibu Rugby Football Union (present Kansai Rugby Football Union) published a monthly journal, called “RUGBY”, in February 1948. After a short time, the JRFU took over the publication of this journal.”
