July 24th Friday
Mr. McNair took me to Geneseo. We left his house 9 a.m. got in Geneseo before 12. n. Met Dr. Kitrich （?） the Presby. Pastor of the town, dined with him. He is a very pleasant and courteous man. We also met Dr. Wood, an old missionary in Turkey. Left Geneseo a little after 3.p.m. Stopped at Mr. Moris ［‘s］, called on Dr. Parsons, took tea with him and came home 10 p.m. I am to speak for Dr. Kittridge to the morning and for Dr. Parsons in the evening the Sunday after next.
ミスター・マクネアがジェネセオまで連れて行ってくれる。午前9時に彼の家を出発し、正午前に到着する。町の長老派教会の牧師であるドクター・キトリッジと会い、食事を共にした。
とても感じが良く礼儀正しい人物だった。年配のトルコの宣教師であるドクター・ウッドにも会った。午後3時を少し過ぎた頃にジェネセオを出発する。ミスター・モリス宅に立ち寄り、ドクター・パーソンズを訪ねてお茶を共にし、午後10時に家に戻る。翌々週の日曜日の午前はドクター・キトリッジの教会で、夜はドクター・パーソンズの教会で説教を行う予定。
