Took the afternoon train to Geneseo. Dr. Kittridge came out to the station to meet me.

He is a very cultured man. One of the most cultured men I have met in this country. His mother is a fine old lady too, remarkably well preserved. He and his wife travelled very extensively abroad. He has three boys and a girl.

午後の電車でジェネセオへ行く。ドクター・キトリッジが私に会いに駅まで出てきてくれた。彼は非常に教養のある人で、この国で会った人の中でも最高レベルだ。母親もとても素敵な老婦人で、驚くほど若く見えた。彼と彼の妻は、海外を広く旅していた。3人の息子と1人の娘がいる。
