We first went to the tailors to get our clothes which we ordered sometime ago. Then we called at the Japanese Consulate, bade Mr. Arakawa the consul good bye. From there we went to the Japanese Legation, saw viscount Hayashi, and Mr. Kameyama, Mr. Matsudaira. Mr. Kameyama invited us to tea in his room not far from the Legation.
まずは以前オーダーしておいた洋服を受けとりに仕立屋に行く。その後日本領事館を訪ね、ミスター・荒川に暇乞いをした。そこから日本公使館に行って林子爵やミスター・カメヤマ、ミスター・マツダイラに会う。公使館からほど近いミスター・カメヤマの自室に招かれ、お茶をいただいた。
