June 9th, Thursday
Spent two hours _10-12 in the British Museum. It is a wonderful collection of Egyptian Greek, Roman and other antiquities. I was much interested in looking at the autographs of famous literary men.
In the afternoon went to the headquarters of Y. W. C. A. because Miss Kinard[sic] invited me to come but she was not there. Nor was Miss Kawai who, as I was told, was to be one of the speakers. So I left after staying a few minute. It is very warm in London. I wish I were in Edinburgh.
A note came from Dr. Simpson saying “Welcome Monday afternoon.” I finished reading the life of Sir George Williams whish was given to me by Sec. Howe. He was a true Christian man. He loved the souls of young men and did his best to save them. That was the secret of his success.
主事のハウ氏からもらった『The Life of Sir George Williams』を読み終えた。
