After the devotional Exercises Dr. Campbell Gibson presented the Report on Commission II. On the Church in the Mission Field Dr. Arthur Brown made a very strong speech, insisting that the whole attitude of the Western Church toward the church in the mission field should now be changed. Mr. Pieters spoke but made no impression. Dr. Brown carried the Conference with him. Dr. Murray also spoke on the right side but did not amount to much. Honda spoke in Japanese and Fisher interpreted for him.
In the afternoon the discussion on the same subject was continued. Harada spoke on Belief and its statement. It was rather indefinite.
In the evening I did not go to the Conference. I took rest and wrote letters to home and Dr. Imbrie.
祈りの会の後、ドクター・キャンベル・ギブソンが第二委員会の報告書を発表した。ドクター・アーサー・ブラウンが宣教地の教会形成について力強い演説を行い、宣教地の教会に対する西方教会の全体的な姿勢を今すぐ変えるべきだと主張した。ミスター・ピーターズも演説したが、印象に残らなかった。ドクター・ブラウンは参加者たちの心を掴んでいた。ドクター・マレーの演説も方向性は良かったが、内容は平凡だった。本多は日本語で演説し、フィッシャーはそれを通訳していた。
午後も同じ主題についての議論が続いた。原田は信仰や信条について演説した。やや曖昧な内容だった。
夜は大会に参加せず身体を休め、家族やドクター・インブリーに宛てて手紙を書いた。
