July 9th, Saturday

Again very hot. Wrote some letters. Wrote Mr. Gamble of Cincinnati and Miss. Helen Gould. In the afternoon too hot to do anything. Mr. Mayuzumi called in the evening. He is in silk business. He once studied in Meiji Gakuin.

今日もまた暑い。手紙を何通か書いた。シンシナティの、ミスター・ギャンブルとミス・ヘレン・ゴウルドにも書いた。午後、何もできないほど暑い。夜、ミスター・マユズミが訪ねてくる。絹織物関係の仕事をしている人物だ。かつて明治学院で学んだことがある。
