Another delightful day, the calmest day we have had thus far. The sea was like mirror, the sunset gorgeous. One of the passengers Mr. J. S. Vosburg lent a book called “Brain and Personality” by W. Hanna Thompson. I read first few chapters of it and find it extremely interesting.
They had more sport this afternoon; the egg and spoon race, the needle and cotton race and the pillow fight. They were all amusing but the last was most exciting and amusing. The Waseda students took part in it.
今日もまた素晴らしい天気、この航海中最も穏やかな日だった。海面は鏡のようで、夕焼けは見事な眺めだった。乗客の一人ミスター・ヴォスバルグがW. ハナ・トンプソン著『脳と性格』という本を貸してくれた。私は何章かを読んでみて、非常に引き込まれた。午後にはまたスポーツ大会があった。エッグ＆スプーン・レース、針の糸通しゲーム、そして枕投げゲームだ。どれも面白かったが、最後のがいちばん盛り上がって楽しめた。早稲田の学生たちが参加していた。
