News came by the wireless from Japan to the effect that the annexation of Korea was proclaimed yesterday 9a.m. The eight articles of the convention were published in the steamer news paper at the dinner tonight. But the Baron Oura called Mr. Abe and myself in to his cabin this morning and showed us the telegram.
日本からの無線連絡により、昨日午前9時に韓国併合が発効されたとのニュースが入った。夕食時には、船が発行する新聞に条約の全8条が掲載された。しかし午前のうちにミスター・アベと私は大浦男爵の個室に呼ばれ、男爵宛に届いた電報を見ていた。
