The subcommittee met Mr. Lowrie and held a conference on the question of the Italian movement which seems to me quite on a wrong basis. I do not like the man either. Took 11.15 train to New York. After lunch at the Pen. Station we came to the Training School 135 East 52nd Street. We all went in motor busses（8 in all）to a reception guided by Mr. and Mrs. C.
H. Dodge and Miss Grace Dodge at their home at River dale on Hudson. It is a very beautiful place. We came back in the same motor busses provided for us.
小委員会にミスター・ロウリーが参加、イタリアの運動について協議したが、私にはその運動は土台が間違っているように思えた。人物も好きになれない。11時15分の列車でニューヨークへ。昼食後、ペン・ステーションから東52丁目135番の訓練学校に行く。全員（合計8人）エンジン・バスに乗り、ミスター・Ｃ・Ｈ・ドッジ夫妻とミス・グレース・ドッジの案内で、ハドソン川沿いのリバーデイルの住まいでのレセプションに参加する。大変風光明媚なところである。手配していただいた同じエンジン・バスで帰った。
