In the morning wrote letters to home and several friends. Left New York by 8.50 P.M. for Eagles Mere Conference. Took the Central R.R. of N.J changed cars at Philadelphia to Phil. & Reading. Found Wilder and Cutt in the same train. Succeeded after some difficulty in getting a berth. The ticket agent in New York evidently neglected to attend to the matter.
午前中は家や友人らに手紙を書いて過ごす。ニューヨークを夜の8時50分に出てイーグルス・ミアの大会に向かう。ニュージャージー・セントラル鉄道に乗り、フィラデルフィアでフィラデルフィア・アンド・レディング鉄道に乗り換える。同じ列車にワイルダーとカットが乗っていた。寝台を得るのに多少の手間がかかった。ニューヨークで切符の手配担当者が明らかに放置していたようだ。
