Came over to Hotel Glockenhoff where Mr. Brown is staying. It is a family hotel or pension. More quiet and cheaper than St. Gothard. Went over to Bour au Lac and saw Dr. Bailey, Mr. Lawrence and Mr. Brenner and found that I was down in the Program for two more addresses of which I knew nothing before. But I have to get ready for them. There is at the Hotel a Methodist Bishop J. C. Hartzell［,］who is in Africa. He is a very interesting man to talk with. In the afternoon I took a ride to the top of Uettiberg. The view was fine. Only that there were clouds at distance though the day was fine and the Alps could not be seen. But the whole city of Zurich and the Limmat valley are at your feet.
ミスター・ブラウンのいるホテル・グロッケンホフを訪ねた。家族経営の小ホテル、あるいはペンションである。ザンクト・ゴットハルトより静かだし安価だ。バウアー・オ・ラック・ホテルに行き、ドクター・ベイリー
とミスター・ローレンス、ミスター・ブレナーに会う。そこで初めて、私が予定より2回余分に演説する日程となっていることを知った。しかし準備はしなければならない。ホテルにはアフリカで活躍しているメソジスト司教であるＪ・Ｃ・ハーツェルがいた。話して非常に楽しい人物である。午後には車でユトリベルク山に行った。景観が美しかったが、遠くに雲があり、こちらは晴れていたがアルプスは望めなかった。しかしチューリッヒとリマト渓谷の全景が眼下に一望できた。
