Went to the Cathedral where Calvin preached. Saw the Art
Gallery in the University. There are some fine pictures. Left Lausanne by 3.55 P.M. and came to Geneva 5.15. Took a room in Hotel International where opposite to station.
The view of the Aples and the lake was splendid. Took a walk in the “English Garden" on the lake. It is a very pretty place. The city seems to be full of tourists. It is a little warmer here than Lausanne where it was quite cool. Very fine day.
かつてカルヴァンが説教をした［ローザンヌ］大聖堂を訪ねる。大学付属の美術館を見る。立派な絵画が何点かあった。ローザンヌを午後3時55分に出発し、ジュネーブに5時15分に着いた。駅の向かいのホテル・インターナショナルに部屋をとる。
アルプスや湖の眺望は実に見事だった。湖のほとりの「英国庭園」を散策した。端正な公園である。街は観光客であふれているようだ。かなり涼しかったローザンヌよりは多少暖かい。天気は上々であった。
