七月二十三日（水）
Thunderstorm last night. But it cleared up in the morning. Took a walk to the University and the Museum. Then went to the Russian Consulate where my passport［was］endorsed.
6 Francs for it. In the afternoon took a tram ride to the cemetery which is pretty but nothing special. About 4 o'clock it began to rain again［and］became really chilly. Made up my mind to start on July 30th from Moscow if possible instead of Aug. 6. Now that my work is done in Europe I am very anxious to return.
昨夜は雷雨。だが朝にはきれいに晴れ上がった。大学と美術館まで歩く。その後ロシア領事館に行ってパスポートに裏書してもらう。6スイスフランだった。午後には路面電車で墓地を訪ねたが、これといって特別なところではなかった。4時頃に再び雨が降り出し、ひどく寒くなった。モスクワから8月6日ではなく7月30日に戻ろうと決めた。もうヨーロッパでの仕事は済んだのだから、一刻も早く帰国したい。
