Spent most of the day in writing letters and packed up my things too so that I can leave at any time.
Wrote to Mr. W. W. Carman to whom Dr. Speer gave me a letter of introduction but I could not see［him］. Sent him a copy of our statement about Meiji Gakuin. Wrote to Izumi and Goshi in England & Scotland.
ほぼ一日、手紙を書き、いつでも出られるよう荷造りするのに費やした。
ミスター・Ｗ・Ｗ・カーマンにも一筆書いた。ドクター・スピアが紹介状をくれたのだが、会うことができなかったのである。明治学院についての声明の写しも同封した。イングランドとスコットランドにいるイズミとゴウシにも書いた。
