Nature at the Water's Edge

Originally covered in many springs, Minato City has small and large ponds and ditches. Also, the only river in the city, the Furukawa River, runs through east to west. There was originally a vast expanse of wide, shallow sea. Now, however, as a result of reclamation and dredging, the vertical sea walls obstruct our approach to the sea. An artificial sandy beach and pebble beach have been created at Odaiba Marine Park. Although they are artificial, many creatures have settled in or visit this diverse waterside environment.
