The Minato City Local History Museum is a renovation of the historic building built in 1938 for the former Institute of Public Health, and it was opened on November 1, 2018. This building, with a distinctive exterior called “Uchida Gothic”, was designed by Uchida Yoshikazu, Professor of Architecture at Tokyo Imperial University (present-day University of Tokyo), and since it was in an excellent state of preservation, renovation work was carried out duly considering its conservation and preservation as a cultural asset, and its use for various facilities.
