The area, west of the intersection of Ome Kaido and Kaneko Kaido, was a sloping road with a 5 m drop (from 145 m to 140 m above sea level). Because of this, the periphery of the slope included cliffs and was withheld from land clearing, possibly to prevent a landslide. So the area was left for various unproductive small trees and bamboo grass to grow. |
