It is the name of the community on the eastern side of the above-mentioned Ishihata. Judging by the literal meaning of the Chinese characters, it is the land between the mountains ('yato') featuring a temple ('Bo'), but there is no evidence of a temple or priest's quarters to support this assumption. According to the town history, it was suggested that it might have been near the Otsuki of Shinme Shrine, but there is no evidence or any oral tradition to support that. |
