| 岸村(現武蔵村山市岸)にあった経塚の近辺、殿ケ谷村に属した土地もあったろう。村境でもある。その経塚の位置は、一本榎より斜めに伊奈街道と方角を対照的に南へ、榎の塚から残堀方面に向かう道を進むとやがて道は二つにわかれる。その三角地帯にあった円墳形式の塚である。戦後きれいに盛土は運び去られて平地化されてしまった。その時唯一の遺物として大きな五輪塔の水輪が一つ出土した。したがって京塚は境塚とみるより経塚にちがいない。 | This was in the vicinity of the Kyozuka (sutra mound) in Kishi Village (now Kishi in Musashimurayama-shi), and it might even have incorporated a part of land belonging to Tonogaya Village. It was also on the boundary of the villages. The location of Kyo-zuka was as follows: first one proceeded in those times from Ippon-enoki in a diagonal direction to the south, as opposed to the direction to Inakaido, and followed the road which passed Enoki-zuka towards the Zanbori River area. The road eventually divided into two. The round burial mound was in the triangular zone, surrounded by these two divided roads. However, the mound embankment was moved away and flattened in the post-war years. At that time, only the carved stone water ring of a large Gorinto(five-ring or five-elements pagoda) was excavated as a relic. Therefore, the mound written of as '京塚' (Kyo-zuka, mound of the capital) must be '経塚' (Kyo-zuka, sutra mound), rather than '境塚' (Kyo-zuka, mound on the boundary). |
