| 殿ケ谷村の内でもっとも中世的地名がこの「カジガヤト」である。訛って土地では「カジゲエト」と言う。中世鍛冶屋の住んだ一郭であったろう。やや場所は動いているらしいが、「おしかけ」とも関連して馬具・武具、さらに農民には農具を提供したものである。位置は砂の前方で、現在八七〇番の榎本皖一家は「かじけえと」の屋号で呼ばれる家である。先祖が鍛冶職であったとの伝承もあり、また転居してきた伝えもあるから、榎本家の周辺、東の方の限られた地名であったと思われる。 | A very typically medieval place name is that of 'Kaji-ga-yato' within the Tonogaya Village. The locals, in the provincial pronunciation, call it 'Kaji-ghē-to'. Presumably, it was the area where the blacksmiths lived in the Middle Ages. They provided equestrian equipment and armor, which related to the aforementioned 'Oshikake', although the location may have been moved a little, and also some agricultural implements were made available for farmers. Kaji-ga-yato is located before Suna, and Enomoto Kan'ichi's family which lives at number 870 now has been referred to by the house name of 'Kaji-ghē-to'. Because there is a legend/tradition that their ancestors were said to have been blacksmiths, and also to have moved in from elsewhere, Kaji-ga-yato would have been a place name around the Enomoto house or in a specific area to the east. |
