It is in the Koyama (small mountain) area, and 'fuchi' (渕) means 'at the edge (縁, fuchi)', similar to how the synonym of 'michi-bata' (道端, road-side) becomes 'michi-tsu-puchi' (道ツ縁,road-side). Koyama was once thought of as a large key-hole shaped tomb mound, and it is the place name of the whole area surrounding the focal point of Koyama. It is where the old sho-na (medieval manorial name) of 'Koyama-fuchi-no-sho' has been handed down.

In addition to the above-mentioned, there are place names, such as 'Jizo-mae' (in front of Jizo), 'Inari-bayashi (Inari forest)'. Jizo-mae is the northwest side of the oval tombstone (in the common burial ground fronting the Azusamiten Shrine in Miya-no-mae). The former Ome Kaido (old highway) is said to have passed behind the oval tombstone. Inari-bayashi, on the other hand, is on the west side next door to the current Komine Heitaro's house, and the premises are referred to as 'Inari-bayashi' even to this day.
Also, 'Shitome-kubo' is south of 'Hamura-michi road' and before Kaihatsu-zakai. 'Haruna-zuka' (春名塚, Haruna mound) is meant to be 'Haruna-zuka' (榛名塚), where 'Haruna-sama' was worshipped until recently and where 'Hiyomaburi' was carried out. It is said that the mound should still retain traces of this practice.
