| 扇町屋(おうぎまちや)の長谷部吉左衛門の出願によって開発された新田で、弟の勘治郎が名主として村づくりに当った関係で長谷部新田と呼んだ。 | It was the shinden (newly developed rice paddies and crop fileds) developed upon the request of Hasebe Kichiza'emon of Ogi-machiya, and his younger brother Kanjiro became the headman of the village development. Thus, the shinden was referred to as Hasebe Shinden. |
