これは修験寺であった梵天山喜晃院帝釈寺旧蔵の像で、鎌倉時代末期の作と推定されている。帝釈寺については詳細は不明であるが、平賀氏がこの地域の地頭として任命されており、この平賀家の祖先が出羽国であるからことから、その信仰により寺院を建てたと考えられる。

This statue was formerly owned by Bontensan Kikouin Taishakuji which was Shugenji (an ascetic training temple), and was considered to be made in the end of Kamakura era. No details of Taishaku temple are known, but Hiraga-shi was appointed as Jito (estate steward) in this region, and the ancestors of Hiraga clan was from Dewa. It is thought that the temple was built based on their belief.
