この鰐口(わにぐち)は、寛永14年の銘があるが、これは追刻で形態から鎌倉時代末期と推定されている。中央の種字(しゅじ)(梵字(ぼんじ))が、「バイ」であることから旧薬師堂にあったものである。

This Waniguchi has the inscription of year 1637. This seems to be added later and it is considered to be made in the end of Kamakura era based on its style. As the character of Shuji (Sanskrit symbol) is "bai," this used to be at the old Yakushi-do.
