          "明治22（1889）年4月1日より、奥領家村ほか三か村（奥領家村、地頭方村、山住村、相月）が合併して奥山村となった。その後、明治36年（1903）12月1日に奥領家のうち野田区、芋堀区、相月区を分離し、城西村を新設した。奥山村は、大正14年（1925）5月10日に町制を施行し、水窪町と改称した。この「水窪町全図」には発行年の記載がないが、昭和11年（1936）12月以前のものと思われる。その理由として、地図左に昭和11年6月4日から12年3月末の期間限定で設置された夏焼仮用分教場が確認できること、昭和11年12月に開業した三遠南信鉄道会社大嵐駅が確認できないこと、地図内の「管外里程表」に飯田町の記載があること（昭和12年4月1日に飯田市発足）があげられる。地図右側には白倉、戸中山、門桁の御料林（皇室所有の森林）が広がる。戸中川沿いに温泉のマークがあるが、これは地頭方鉱泉といいリウマチなどによく効いたといわれる。県道、聯路、小径を赤線で記し、各地の準市街地とつながる。町役場付近には、区裁判所、帝室林野局水窪分担区、水窪工営所等があり、北遠の中心地として栄えた。三信鉄道開通前の地図である。"
